We are seasoned journalists and documentary filmmakers with a background in education and instructional media. We have combined 25 years of storytelling experience for non-profit organizations and public media. We met a decade ago at KQED, the Bay Area’s PBS and NPR station, where we were co-creators of the Emmy-award winning video series Above the Noise. We decided it’s now time to parlay our expertise in media storytelling for impact into an independent venture where we can collaborate with dynamic organizations and companies to work on a broad variety of projects that focus on social change.

Who We Are

Annelise Wunderlich

Annelise Wunderlich is an experienced media producer with over 20 years crafting compelling documentary films and educational media that inspire change and amplify important voices. Her career began in immigrant and refugee advocacy at Amnesty International, where she honed her passion for storytelling as a tool for justice. After earning a dual master’s degree in Latin American Studies and Journalism from UC Berkeley, Annelise went on to produce impactful documentaries that aired nationally on public television, ranging from films about factory workers in Tijuana organizing to clean toxic waste from their communities to farm workers in California standing up against sexual abuse in the fields.
At ITVS (Independent Television Service), she spent a decade as a Senior Production Manager and Education Director, collaborating with filmmakers to deliver high-quality content and spearheading initiatives that brought documentary films to classrooms nationwide. Most recently, as Executive Producer at KQED, she led the Emmy-winning series Above the Noise, a groundbreaking educational series that captivated audiences with its fresh take on complex issues.
Annelise’s creative vision extends to independent filmmaking, having co-directed The Corridor, a feature documentary that aired nationally on PBS’s America ReFramed. Why the Name Clutch Content?
Among many other things, we share a passion for penguins. When brainstorming names for our production company, we wanted something meaningful, unique, and a little quirky—like us. The name needed to capture our approach: nurturing ideas from a tiny seed into a fully realized, impactful final product. After tossing around ideas, we found ourselves in a classic Google rabbit hole that somehow landed on penguins.
That’s when we discovered something new: a nest of baby penguins is called a “clutch.” As devoted penguin fans (seriously, they’re adorable and resilient), the name resonated with us immediately. But it didn’t stop there. The word “clutch” also means excelling under pressure, which perfectly describes our approach to producing videos. After seven years of creating a biweekly video series—complete with tight deadlines, high stakes, and constant distractions—we’ve learned how to stay cool under pressure and deliver exceptional results every time.
Our complementary skills and shared love for collaboration make us a powerful team. We have a blast working together and thrive on crafting stories that inspire and engage. Whether your idea is a fledgling concept or ready to take flight, we’re here to help you hatch something extraordinary.
